Gabriel o La maldición de la musa

In Bayamo, amid old mansions and the drawing rooms of high society, Gabriel Montejo lives for painting and a melancholy he can't name. The country is shedding its skin. Then, one night, Elizabeth appears, and everything falls apart. She's dazzling, her origins unclear. The same smile can inspire devotion and mistrust. From then on, love becomes obsession, art becomes a necessity, and every brushstroke seems to open a door to the inexplicable.

In Gabriel, or The Muse's Curse, beauty comes at a price, and desire leaves its mark across time. The atmosphere is intense, the prose immersive and sensuous. Balbina Otero takes you through different eras of Cuban history, revealing how families inherit the past, how certain secrets take root within a family, and how a muse can bring salvation… or doom.

If you enjoy love stories tinged with darkness and mystery, and writing that stays with you long after you've closed the book, this is for you. Discover why some loves never die. They become destiny.
